My Small World Halloween quilt

I bought this pattern booklet by Jen Kingwell about a year ago.  It is called "My Small World".
I made my version with Halloween Fabrics from my stash that I have collected over the past 20 years. Three bins full.
I started this quilt on April 15th. I bound it on May 20th. I added a Castle and an Undertaker. I added a Martini Lounge and a Hot Air Balloon. You can go on and on with this.

Here it is with the sky in progress.

The hearse for the Undertaker and the Martini glass.

Skeleton Party on the second floor.

Had the alien fabric so I had to use it somewhere.

I'm about half way done here.

I just had to add a Castle. I eliminated the hexagon hill. This is a good close up of all the random sky fabrics.

My neighbor gave me the Hot Air Balloon. I cut it out and used baker's twine for the ropes.
I just zig-zagged over them. I didn't quilt over the balloon part and it pops out a little.

These are the first blocks I made for this quilt.

I love this skeleton guy with the rattles.
Hey leave me a comment and tell me which part is your favorite. Tell me what you would do differently. I just might make another one.

  2. Wow, what a fabulous, inventive and fun quilt. Really terrific. The castle made with the rock fabric is genius.

  3. OK .... this is amazing! I love the pumpkin air balloon. You need to send this link to Jen so that she can see your version.

  4. I love your version of this quilt! Now I regret passing up some of those "too cutesy" Halloween fabrics, they work so well here.
