Halloween quilt- Community Sampler

This quilt is called Community Sampler.
It was a quilt along by Maureen Cracknell and Sharon Holland. It was designed by Sharon Holland.
sharonhollanddesigns.com  The pattern is still free last time I checked. The quilt along was originally in 2018 I believe. I saved all of the blocks and finally made it during this Covid-19 shutdown.

I used a line of fabric designed by Johanna Parker who is a Folk Art designer. I love her vintage style. I thought the quilt looked rather boring until I put the background setting triangle on.  I fell in love when I added the ric rac border.

The blocks went together so quick and accurately-I had them all done in 2 days.
On day 3 I added the setting triangles and borders.
Quilted and Bound. I used Anne Bright's Spooky Spirals design.

The back is bats on a Cheddar background. Johanna Parker fabric that I got on Craftsy. You can get her fabric on Spoonflower also and they have a large selection.

Bound with an old Joanne's fabric that has gray words on black.

My Small World Halloween quilt

I bought this pattern booklet by Jen Kingwell about a year ago.  It is called "My Small World".
I made my version with Halloween Fabrics from my stash that I have collected over the past 20 years. Three bins full.
I started this quilt on April 15th. I bound it on May 20th. I added a Castle and an Undertaker. I added a Martini Lounge and a Hot Air Balloon. You can go on and on with this.

Here it is with the sky in progress.

The hearse for the Undertaker and the Martini glass.

Skeleton Party on the second floor.

Had the alien fabric so I had to use it somewhere.

I'm about half way done here.

I just had to add a Castle. I eliminated the hexagon hill. This is a good close up of all the random sky fabrics.

My neighbor gave me the Hot Air Balloon. I cut it out and used baker's twine for the ropes.
I just zig-zagged over them. I didn't quilt over the balloon part and it pops out a little.

These are the first blocks I made for this quilt.

I love this skeleton guy with the rattles.
Hey leave me a comment and tell me which part is your favorite. Tell me what you would do differently. I just might make another one.
