The blocks of the Mystery quilt with the sashing added. |
|
The sashing is all words. The instructions called for sashing and then just binding. But I thought it needed something more. |
|
So I added a red border. Still wasn't happy with it. So I added a 10 inch border to that. |
This turned out to be a Twin size quilt. So I'm calling this quilt "Santa crisscrossing the snowy sky".
These Santa Heads are large and I didn't want to cut them off so that is why I kept the border extra large. I have enough of the Santa fabric to use on the back.
I love how your quilt turned out!
ReplyDeleteThank you Joanne, I just finished binding it.
DeleteWow, it's gorgeous! I love the sashing fabric you used. After my second mystery quilt I decided not to do them anymore, but I see this is one I wished I'd done. I kept the instructions so maybe I'll do it a little later.
ReplyDeleteThank you Nancy, I just finished binding it today.
DeleteThis turned out wonderfully. The Santa fabric border really enhances the inner piecing. It's absolutely delightful!!!
ReplyDeleteOh, I really like the sashing! (I have the blocks made. Now you've given me an idea....)
ReplyDeleteLove it! Makes me want to make one.
ReplyDeleteIt's never too late to start Crystal.

ReplyDeleteI'm going to work on mine this week and link to your awesome version!
Kathy thanks for the link. I sure got a lot of visitors from you. I just finished binding it today.
DeleteI love your sashing and border fabrics! They really add to it. I made mine with civil war type prints, and I like it, but yours is so much more fun!
ReplyDeleteThank you Mary.
DeleteWhat a fun quilt!! Looks like an extremely successful Mystery Quilt. One of these days, I'll make one, too!
ReplyDeleteThank you Joyful. You just never know what your gonna get in the end.
