New Year's Day Mystery 2020

On New Year's Eve I got an email from Kris of Scrapdash. She was going to host a Mystery quilt on New Year's Day. She was giving a clue every hour from 10am to 3pm.  She gave us the fabric requirements on New Year's Eve.  I read the first clue wrong and made my 16 patch too small.

I was just too lazy to gather fabrics up so I just waited until New Year's Day and grabbed fabrics from the most recent scrap piles. I had a lot left over from my At the Seashore quilt. I remade the 16 patch here. I'm trying out green stripes for the inner border here.
I went with the green and white stripe and mitered the border. That was part of the instructions. I'm trying out another outer border here.
I was going to use this daisy as my outer border because it would pull it together with the daisy strip and pinwheels.

I ended up with this crackle instead for the outer border. It is the same as the arrows. It is less busy.

I quilted it with a rolling hills type of design. Very simple and fast.

Here is the back. The strip piece was supposed to be used for a hanging sleeve according to the directions. I am giving it to charity so it didn't need a hanging sleeve. I just incorporated it into the back. This is where the daisy fabric ended up.
Green binding.
I'm no good at those real nice folded quilt shots showing the binding all pretty.
