Sweet Land of Liberty qal April 2018

These are my blocks for month 4 of the Sweet Land of Liberty quilt along. I have more photos of them further down in the blog. I haven't added the 2 inch squares to the bottom of the star yet. I'm waiting for the next instructions then I will complete it and the row.

Changed up my Lady Liberty. The other one was too frumpy for me. Ha
I haven't adhered my stars yet to the pineapple. I might change them.

I thought I sewed 5 of these economy blocks but only seem to have 4. I love picking out the fabrics for these.

Flying geese. Not loving them. I will have to mix it up more before the final decision on where to put these.

  1. Just stunning! I like your lady liberty block, it turned out so nice. The original looked like the "king" of America instead of a lady. I just couldn't do it. I liked your comment about "loving to pick out the fabrics" for the flying geese units. I don't enjoy that step very much - maybe you could send some motivating vibe this way to help me get ahead.

    1. I just noticed you're in Boulder City. I had my oldest daughter in the Boulder City hospital in 1975. We were living in LV at the time. It's such a pretty little city.

    2. Small world. Boulder City has changed a lot since I've been here for the past 31 years. You have to go to Henderson to have babies. They're putting in a new freeway to bypass the town. Railroad Pass Casino is now a truck stop and casino. It's still a quaint town we love it here.

  3. I like your Lady Liberty. Did the same thing. I'm liking how much lighter your blocks look.

  6. I just love the stripes in your pineapple! My Pineapple is different but I am pleased with it. I still have one more block to make.
